A Perfect Walk

was written to encourage youth and adults to open up about their mental and emotional battles to someone trustworthy. The first step toward healing for them is to confidentially share their anguish caused by childhood accidents, injuries,
illnesses, and abuse.

Paul M. Gallagher has gone from “a mess to a miracle in the making”! If it wasn’t for fear (of God), he wouldn’t be here (on earth). He is here to share his irrational and rather humorous thought processes while hopefully helping others struggling with mental health issues.

Paul M. Gallagher

Biography

Paul was born in Milwaukee, WI and was raised in Greendale, WI (a suburb of Milwaukee County). He graduated from Greendale High School in 1992 and years later graduated from Marquette University (B.A. in Criminology & Law Studies) in Milwaukee, WI in 1999. Go Marquette Warriors!

As you’ll see in the book, Paul then went on to various employment opportunities while battling severe anxiety. He kept his sanity by walking and by watching Seinfeld and sports on TV. He is a sports fanatic, to put it mildly. His favorite sports teams include the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Badgers football team and the Marquette University basketball team. Now living in Colorado, he is a fan of the Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Rockies (he very much enjoys listening to their games on the radio).

Paul currently resides in Eagle County, Colorado. His free time is spent reading (the gospel, current events, sports), writing (about mental health issues and his Christian worldview), exercising (walking, spinning, rowing) and participating in church (where he serves on the Security Team). He thinks the 45 years of intense mental anguish that he experienced was caused by several factors: his sinful nature, an eye injury at age 4, a dysfunctional childhood, a lack of obedience/self-control and a lack of intense exercise. He says “spiritual warfare” is real. He encourages others to not fear man and to obey the Word of God.

Paul believes in the importance of reading Gods’ Word, good/quality sleep, healthy nutrition, intense exercise, a good sense of humor and sobriety. He thinks he made very poor life choices while engaging in drunkenness and now enjoys a sober life. A sober life is an important piece of self-control.

Paul would like to thank the following radio stations for taking the time to interview him:
